Walking in gardens around the world, I have discovered how much I cherish the quiet beauty. Paths that meander through a collection of beautiful blossoms, colors, textures and living breathing plants offer joyful inspiration. On our small group tours we often include a garden and at least two of our trips are focused on gardens. In South Africa, visiting the renowned Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden offered a whole new world of plants to us. The golden bird of paradise named for Nelson Mandela was memorable. Kew Gardens in London, another of the world’s renowned gardens, always offers food for the spirit. A small garden tended carefully by a friend touches one’s heart when seeing the love that is given to the earth. In this world of noise, chaos, and 24/7, I think wandering amidst gardens and giving love to the earth is wise.
