The Chelsea Physic Garden
On the edge of the Thames, in London, sits the lovely plot of land where The Chelsea Physic Garden sits. It’s tucked behind a wall and feels like one of London’s best kept secrets. Launched in 1673, is London’s oldest botanical garden. The collection of plants nestled together in this space includes thousands of diverse, edible, useful, and medicinal plants that continue to impact and change the world. Two very old glasshouses are part of the garden and are presently undergoing restoration to allow for some extremely rare plants to flourish. The glasshouses will reopen in 2023. In the meantime, there is plenty to admire and enjoy. This small gem of a garden is always refreshing and inspiring. I encourage anyone visiting London to spend a few hours here meandering and perhaps sipping an organic tea amidst the beauty.
