Amidst the pandemic, Spring has arrived around the world and gardens are beginning to flourish. I have enjoyed a few virtual tours of world famous gardens including some that we meander on our trips. Naturally all our spring trips are cancelled and I am focused on 2021 travels. Our new dates for our English Garden and Chelsea Flower Show trip are now posted online for reservations. As this virus keeps us at home, I am reminded of the British WW2 motto of Keep Calm and Carry On. There are many well worn words to inspire. A few of my favourites are found in the Psalms and, of course, The Twenty Third Psalm being the most revered. We have been going out for walks, listening to music, and baking. I will need longer walks when this is over to make up for all the baking that has found it’s way to our table. I turned to a small Irish cookbook I had purchased in Ireland for a soda bread recipe which was simple and tasty. As I write this I am thinking of all the good times we have shared traveling and hopeful everyone’s travel dreams begin to happen again soon. Until then, from my Gaelic roots, here is an Irish Blessing for you.
May the road rise up to meet you
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
