Dappled Summer Days

What are you doing this summer?  I am hopeful you are savouring the light, warmth and outdoor living that summer offers to us all.  This weekend we went touring locally in the Canadian Maritimes where we spend our summer months.  If you missed the Serendipity Traveler Women's  Walking in Nova Scotia trip this year, perhaps you will join me here next summer.  The Maritimes are a unique part of the world. Yesterday we packed a picnic and ended up sitting on a dock watching the fog dance with the islands after visiting one of my favorite garden shops for a few more perennials to plant.  The farmer's market is now in full swing and our food is the freshest of the year.  I am thankful to the folks who continue to plow the fields and harvest crops without ceasing for our pleasure and healthy eating.  At the weekly market there is  live music, tables to sit and share conversation with a neighbor, and long lines for the best bread baked locally.  Spending summers by the sea has been a part of me since I was born and on sunny or foggy days I can think of no other place I would rather be than blissfully immersed in the eternal rhythms of the tides.
