Chelsea Flower Show 2012

I just received notification that tickets for Chelsea are now available for RHS members to order.  I have been a member of The Royal Horticultural Society for years now and thoroughly enjoy the various benefits.  When the postman brings the RHS issue of The Garden, all else stops.   I fix some tea and read The Garden from cover to cover.  Ordering tickets for the Chelsea Flower Show early each year gives us great options for our days in London.  Attending the show on "members only day", one senses the love of gardening and the beginning of the British Summer Social calendar.  Chelsea is the grand dame of flower shows and many gardeners could spend the entire day wandering, while others take in areas of special interest and opt to focus on particulars.  Each year, I find the spectacular exhibits inspiring.  One of my favorite areas is the courtyard gardens.  Another is the lane of shops where a plethora of gardening items are for sale.  The botanical paintings and prints from established and emerging artists always tempt.  Whether yours is an urban plot, country house or a potting patio, Chelsea will take your breath away and leave you remembering a symphony of color to add to many others on our annual English Garden Tour.
