Iceland is the land of the Vikings with stunning landscapes, thunderous waterfalls, windswept coastlines and endless light  in summer.   Summer is the best time to visit and consequently a bit busier.  As always, we know how to find the roads less traveled and find spots that are lesser known while visiting those that are well known and not to be missed.

Iceland's capital city is Reykjavik.  We will perch in the heart of the city where everything you will want to see there is within easy walking distance.  Our walking tour will be an introduction to the history that is Iceland including the architecture of The Harpa and history of the The Hallgrimskirkja Church, one of the historical buildings we will visit while getting acquainted in Reykjavik with Iceland's history, culture and wonders.

Golden Circle

Our sampler of Southern Iceland will take us in all directions of the compass as we explore the notable Golden Circle route stopping as we travel to experience the magical, mystical environment.  Walking and walking some more will be part of our days as we tour this dramatic island of geysers, glaciers, Viking myths, and unending waterfalls.

Black Sand Beaches & Puffins

Throughout our tour, we will be experiencing a variety of landscapes which will indeed leave lasting imprints and extraordinary moments of wonder.  Islands Magazine counted the beach near Vik as one of the ten most beautiful non tropical beaches on Earth.  The cliffs west of the beach are home to many seabirds, most notably puffins, which burrow into the shallow soils during the nesting season.  Seljalandsfoss is a waterfall you can walk behind.  Before heading to the beach of Reynisfjara to see the basalt sea stacks of Reynisdrangar, we will learn the legend associated with the rocks and will walk on the black sandy beaches.

It's summertime and the wildflowers are blooming.  Thingvelier National Park is a treasure we will explore. It is where the Vikings established the first Parliament and is now home to the oldest working Parliament. This is a protected UNESCO World Heritage Site of outstanding natural beauty.  It is the only place in the world where you can stand on the American tectonic plate and see Europe.  Strokkur is the 4th biggest geyser in the world and erupts every five mionites or so.  Gullfoss waterfall, where the glacial river Hvita feeds milky green coloured water from the glacier Langjokull, is the second biggest glacier in Europe and awe inspiring.

Iceland will provide women travelers with a keen sense of untamed landscapes and an environment that reflects all spectrums of weather.,  It is an idyllic glimpse into a land discovered ages ago.

Snaefellsnes Peninsula

Northwest, the breathtaking Snaefellsnes Peninsula is a place not to be missed.  We will spend two nights perched  here and experience one of Iceland's best country properties situated amidst pure splendour. Women travelers  will experience a Sea Tour while in this breathtaking region.

Snæfellsjökull glacier, a 1,446-metre high volcano on the western part of the Snaefellsnes Peninsula, is among Iceland’s most famous landmarks.  The glacier has been the topic of endless speculations over hundreds of years as some think it to possess some mystical powers.  The peninsula offers moss-covered lava rocks, craggy seaside cliffs, strange rock formations made by the sea, a giant glacier, majestic fjords, windswept beaches, tiny fishing villages and even some rolling farmlands dotted with sheep and horses.
