I See The Moon

When traveling, there are many moments when nature and her profound beauty provide us the ultimate luxury.  Nothing in a guidebook or itinerary can describe some of the best moments when nature with all her beauty touches our hearts.  Perhaps a full moon rise over the sea or at a lake or in the mountains takes you away from your cares and you know all shall be well.  

"I see the moon the moon sees me, God Bless the moon and God Bless me."  Years ago I taught this sweet rhyme to our children and more recently to our granddaughter.  As the moon was full recently, I heard a young auntie teaching the rhyme to her three year old niece as we were all watching the spectacular moon rise.  Wondering just where the rhyme originated, I learned the author is unknown. The date of origin thought to be 1784.  If that is true, 2009 makes 225 years the little nursery rhyme has been lovingly repeated over the years; teaching us early on about the mystery and wonders of life.
