Bucklebury

Royal Wedding notes... from a British friend who grew up in the village of Bucklebury.

She writes that her son and Kate Middleton both shared the same piano teacher, butcher and other ordinary folks in the now infamous village.

"I have not confessed yet, but I was born and grew up in Bucklebury, the home village of Miss Middleton.  It is so strange to see how Bucklebury shall never be the same again.  To see my son's piano teacher on TV is bazaar, so my son's claim to fame shall be that he was also taught on the same piano as Kate!!!!  The butcher is such a lovely guy and again I have just watched him on TV."

Perhaps there will be pies named after the village, a new line of fashions, or whatever else the commercial interests can conjure up.  Burberry move over Bucklebury is now at the top of fashion on High Street. You can just imagine the possibilities. We will not be visiting Bucklelbury on our English tour.  However, we always begin the tour at Westminster and enjoy the Sunday afternoon organ concerts there.  Westminster is a sacred, historical and very significant place in British history.  This year we will sense the Royal Wedding energy lingering three weeks after the marriage of a commoner from the village of Bucklebury when we sit in the same place where, for centuries, history has been made. That is the charm of England, the history and traditions, tea and a royal flair from scones with clotted cream to, horse guards, and fairytale weddings.
