Dominica
Memories of hiking to Victoria Falls on Dominica last
week are vivid. The rainforest was lush. Our barefoot native guide was steady and helpful
in his ability to lead us up and down around and over rocks of varying sizes;
some moss covered and others worn smooth with the flow of the White
River. We made three river
crossings as we kept our footing on the journey to spectacular Victoria
Falls. This was one of
those pristine days you remember forever.
Nestled in the majestic beauty of God's creation with a thundering
waterfall in front of me, I plunged into one of the pools to cool off and soak
in the mineral rich waters cascading down the White River. Other women travelers continued onward to reach closer to the
falls leaving me alone and content. Pure Bliss in Dominica.
