London in December

On Sunday we’re flying to London and it will be my first visit in the winter season.  For decades, I have been touring England each spring on our annual English Garden and Chelsea Flower Show tour.  There will be no wisteria in bloom in December and yet spectacular Kew Gardens will be festive with spectacular light displays.  I’m excited to see Harrod’s Christmas windows, sip afternoon tea and, of course, order sticky toffee pudding one evening for dessert.  My husband and I love music and we will be relishing two concerts this week; The Royal Philharmonic’s Choral Christmas at Cadogan Hall and John Rutter’s Christmas Celebration at Royal Albert Hall.  British composer, John Rutter’s Candlelight Carol is one of my favorites. With our 2017 South Africa trip taking shape, I purchased tickets for the British Museum’s, “The Art of South Africa” exhibit.  The week will fly and then we will return home filled with memories of Merry England and dream of where the next trip will take us…….Life is Short, Travel Well……
