Women’s Wellness

The island of Dominica is perched in the West Indies; a lesser known island that is one of my favorites. Each January, our women's retreat to Dominica starts the year. What is a wellness retreat you ask? The prime ingredient is recognizing the need to take care of yourself and spending a full week in a luscious location to enrich your life. Each day a spa treatment is offered to enhance your well being. Yoga is offered each morning. Our activities include walking, hiking snorkeling and being. “Sometimes I sits and thinks and sometimes I just sits” is a well loved Caribbean phrase. It is good to slow down, to ponder, to dream and to refuel. Stateside, our days are full and unfold at a fast pace. Traveling to an island slows us down. Unplug, unwind and savour the slower approach to each day. Learn to hear the phrase, “no problem” no matter what the request. Experience the smiles that come from deep within the heart. Reconnect with the child in you who has perhaps stopped playing. Laugh more, let nature nurture your spirit, and leave with indelible memories feeling healthier, more in balance and ready for your next chapter.
