If ever I could, I would travel to all the world's notable gardens in every season. How is that for traveling dream. I just returned from our 8th annual Chelsea Flower Show English Garden Tour and am savoring the memories. Kiftsgate Court, a notable British garden on the top of a hill overlooking the Vale of Evesham in the idyllic Cotswolds, reflects the hard work of three generations of women gardeners. While meandering i was drawn to a peony in bloom. When learning more, I found out that the founder of the famous Kew Gardens in London brought the plant back in the 1800's. Kiftsgate Court is just across the lane from Hidcote, another world class garden to visit in England. The gardens are numerous in England and we edit each year to weave in one more garden as a surprise on our itinerary. This year I includedKiftsgate Court. In 2014, it will be a trio of gardens south of Bath. I like the variety and seeing the owner's dreams realized in the beauty of their gardens. I think a second English Garden Tour is in the works........perhaps our annual in May and another in July.....timed with Hampton Court Palace Show in London! Time to go now and get some weeds pulled and then sip an iced coffee and dream of meandering in gardens here, there and everywhere.
