As summer fades, the crisp winds of Autumn have been blowing here on the coast. I am still looking forward to those Autumn days in October, affectionately known as Indian Summer, when summer comes once more just for a few days to grace us with her warmth before the chill of winter arrives. Dahlias are in their prime. Pumpkins are starting to appear in the fields and on doorsteps and sunflowers are in full bloom. Maples are beginning to turn, ever so slowly , and our trip timed in another week or so will be ideal for experiencing Southern Vermont and its tapestry of colors. Autumn in New England is a season that is unlike any other. I am looking forward to our jaunt to Vermont, apple cider, and walking in the mountains.
