The wild and wonderful island plunked in the middle of the sea known as Iceland surprised me when I first visited to do the research for our upcoming trip this summer. Iceland’s coastline of more than 3,000 miles meets the Greenland Sea on the north, the Norwegian Sea on the east, the Atlantic on the south and west, and the Denmark Strait. Beauty is everywhere. Viking culture, days where the sun never seems to sleep, and waterfalls for each week of the year all combine to offer visitors a refreshing experience. In June, the wildflowers were beginning to blossom across the wide open fields as far as one could see. Iceland is a place that takes your breath away! I am looking forward to returning to explore the notable gems and less traveled roads on our 2018 summer in Iceland tour for women travelers.
